Job Title: Laboratory Engineer Analytical Equipment

Department: Quality Control / R&D Laboratory

Reports To: Lab Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Engineer to manage, operate, maintain, and calibrate various advanced analytical and sample preparation instruments. The ideal candidate will support daily testing operations, ensure data accuracy, maintain equipment functionality, and contribute to laboratory quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the following instruments:

  • CO / HO Analyzer

  • Carbon-Sulfur (CS) Analyzer
  • Hydrogen Determination Analyzer
  • X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Spectrometer
  • Fusion Fluxer
  • Powder Compressor
  • Ball Mill
  • Drying and Heating Chambers
  • Moisture Analyzer
  • Analytical Balance

  • Spectrometer

  • Conduct sample preparation and perform chemical/elemental analysis according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Perform routine calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of all lab equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of test results in accordance with ISO/ASTM/industry standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, QA, and procurement teams for spares, consumables, and breakdown support.
  • Comply with all laboratory health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, and assist in method validation and continuous improvement projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience with analytical instruments listed above.

  • Skills:

  • Good understanding of analytical testing methods.

  • Basic knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a metallurgical, welding, or materials testing lab.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 or similar lab quality standards.
