About the Job
As the Category Manager – Clinics, you will drive the growth charter for Supertails' clinic vertical This is not an operations role instead, the focus is on growth strategy, category and service optimization, clinic-led demand generation, and cross-functional initiatives that enhance revenue, patient footfall, and service adoption.
You will collaborate closely with City Managers (operations) and the Process Excellence team (SOPs, efficiency) to ensure seamless execution of your strategies. This role reports directly to the Head of Category Management and is positioned as an individual contributor with cross-functional leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute growth strategies to meet revenue and patient volume targets for each clinic
- Develop and launch new service lines, offers, and packages to attract and retain customers
- Conduct market, customer, and competitor research to identify untapped growth opportunities
- Tailor growth initiatives at a city/clinic level in collaboration with City Managers
Category & Service Management
- Own the clinic services portfolio — consultations, diagnostics, and grooming — ensuring competitiveness, adoption, and profitability
- Launch and scale subscription plans and wellness packages
- Optimize pricing, promotions, and bundling to align with customer needs and business goals
- Monitor service performance and improve service mix based on utilization, feedback, and outcomes
Growth Enablers & Merchandising
- Design in-clinic merchandising strategies, including POS materials, collaterals, and offers
- Identify what to pitch, how to pitch, and when to pitch across the patient journey
- Train field and clinic teams (via City Managers) on pitch strategy, upselling, and customer experience enhancement
Insights & Innovation
- Analyze funnel data, user feedback, and no-show/drop-off behavior to generate insights
- Use NPS, CSAT, and post-visit feedback to identify and prioritize improvement areas
- Collaborate with Process Excellence and Clinical teams to test and scale new initiatives
- Run controlled experiments (pricing, service design, communication) and scale successful outcomes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with user growth (acquisition, retention, branding), ecommerce merchandising, product, clinical leadership, and operations teams
- Manage relationships with external partners — diagnostic vendors, referral partners, and suppliers — to expand service offerings
- Lead performance reviews and share actionable insights with leadership and cross-functional teams
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and own KPIs: revenue per clinic, footfall, AOV, conversion, subscription attach rates, and repeat usage
- Maintain a weekly/monthly growth dashboard for leadership visibility
- Present insights, learnings, and next-step plans during reviews
Required Core Competencies
- 4+ years of experience in growth, category management, or business roles within healthcare, consumer, or service industries
- Strong analytical mindset with a bias for action and experimentation
- Proven ability to launch and scale new initiatives from scratch
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Clear, structured communication with the ability to translate insights into business impact
Good-to-Have Skills
- Pet parent (not just owner) with deep empathy for pet care
- Exposure to healthcare/clinic service models or multi-location growth strategy
- Experience with customer insights tools (NPS, CSAT, funnel analytics)
- Hands-on experience with in-clinic merchandising or service-led sales enablement
