Security Officer

The Security Officer (Ex-Army/Defence) will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of cargo terminal operations at Nhava Sheva. The role includes supervision of physical security, access control, surveillance systems, incident management, and compliance with port and regulatory security standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Terminal Security Management

• Oversee daily security operations within the terminal.
• Control and monitor movement of vehicles, staff, visitors, and cargo.
• Ensure 24x7 security coverage across all operational zones.

2. Surveillance & Monitoring

• Monitor CCTV, perimeter security, and control room operations.
• Ensure proper functioning of all surveillance and alarm systems.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Ensure adherence to standards set by:

• Customs

• CISF
• Port Authorities (JNPT)
• DG Shipping

• ISPS (International Ship & Port Facility Security Code)

• Maintain records for audits and inspections.

4. Incident & Emergency Response

• Lead emergency responses (fire, theft, intrusion, medical, accidents).
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare incident reports.
• Implement preventive and corrective security measures.

5. Team Supervision

• Supervise security guards and supervisors.
• Manage deployment schedules and enforce SOPs.
• Conduct training and maintain discipline.

6. Cargo & Asset Protection

• Monitor cargo handling to prevent pilferage or tampering.
• Ensure security for high-value, hazardous, reefer, bonded cargo.
• Coordinate with operations, customs, shipping lines, transporters.

7. Coordination with Authorities

• Coordinate with police, customs, port authorities, and emergency services.
• Support investigations and compliance checks.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Ex-Army / Ex-Defence / Ex-Navy / Ex-Air Force
• Age: years
• Experience in industrial, port, cargo, logistics, warehouse, or SEZ security preferred
• Strong discipline, leadership, and crisis-handling capability
