Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team in Nashik. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, simulation, testing, and optimization of electronic hardware components and systems from concept to production. This role requires a strong foundation in electronics, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for bringing cutting-edge hardware solutions to life, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Concept & Architecture Design:Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and technical specifications based on product roadmaps and customer needs.
• Develop system architecture, block diagrams, and detailed circuit designs for new electronic products and modules.
• Perform component selection (e.g., microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, memory, sensors, power management ICs, communication transceivers) based on technical requirements, availability, cost, and longevity.
• Schematic Capture & PCB Design:Design and capture complex schematics using industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, Eagle).
• Conduct multi-layer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout design, meticulously considering signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI), thermal management, and manufacturing constraints.
• Generate accurate Gerber files, drill files, assembly drawings, and comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOMs) for PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Prototyping & Bring-up:Oversee the PCB fabrication and assembly process, liaising with manufacturers.
• Perform initial hardware bring-up, power-on sequences, and basic functionality tests on new prototypes.
• Work closely with firmware/software engineers for initial system integration and debugging.
• Testing, Validation & Debugging:Develop and execute comprehensive hardware test plans and procedures to validate design functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Conduct functional testing, performance testing, stress testing, and environmental testing (e.g., temperature, humidity).
• Utilize various lab equipment proficiently, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DMMs, and power supplies, for testing and debugging.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues during development, testing, and production phases.
• Perform root cause analysis for identified design flaws, component failures, or field returns.
• Design for X (DFX):Ensure designs are optimized for Manufacturability (DFM), Testability (DFT), Assembly (DFA), and Cost (DFC) in collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams.
• Support production ramp-up and provide technical assistance for manufacturing issues.
• Documentation & Compliance:Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including design specifications, schematics, PCB layout files, BOMs, test reports, and validation records.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IPC standards for PCB design, EMI/EMC standards like FCC/CE, safety standards like UL/IEC).
• Cross-functional Collaboration:Collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers for enclosure design, software/firmware engineers for embedded code development, quality assurance teams for testing, and project management to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
