Job Title: Tableau Administrator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tableau Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Tableau Server environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Tableau services, as well as supporting business users and development teams in leveraging Tableau for data visualization and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop environments.
  • Manage Tableau user accounts, permissions, and security groups.
  • Monitor server health, performance, and capacity; optimize for scalability and efficiency.
  • Automate administrative tasks and manage scheduled extracts and data refreshes.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to publish, manage, and optimize dashboards and data sources.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Tableau Server performance, extracts, and connectivity.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational data governance and security standards.
  • Stay current with Tableau releases, features, and best practices.
  • Support user onboarding, training, and technical guidance for Tableau-related queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 13 years of experience as a Tableau Administrator or in a similar BI platform support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Server (installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and Tableau Desktop.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation.
  • Experience managing Tableau in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, SSL, SSO, and other security protocols.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Tableau Certified Associate or Certified Professional certification.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Tableau deployments.
  • Exposure to tools like Alteryx, Power BI, or other BI/ETL platforms.
