Job Title: Public Relations Officer (Female) – Neuro and Orthopedic RehabilitationEmployment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Marketing Manager/Director of Business Development
Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional and empathetic Female Public Relations Officer (PRO) with prior healthcare experience to enhance the visibility and reputation of our neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services. The PRO will serve as the public face of the organization, fostering relationships with healthcare providers, patients, families, and community stakeholders. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of healthcare dynamics, and the ability to promote specialized rehabilitation programs for conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, and sports injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Public Relations and Brand Representation:
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing its neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services at community events, healthcare conferences, and media engagements.
- Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and promotional materials to highlight the center's expertise in neuro and orthopedic care.
- Ensure all communications align with the organization's mission, values, and healthcare regulations.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, including neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, case managers, and patient advocacy groups, to drive patient referrals.
- Organize community outreach programs, such as health awareness campaigns, support groups, or educational seminars on neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation topics (e.g., stroke recovery, arthritis management).
Engage with local organizations and women's health groups to promote specialized services, such as postpartum recovery or menopause-related joint care, aligning with community needs.
Patient and Family Communication:
- Serve as a compassionate point of contact for patients and families, addressing inquiries about rehabilitation services and facilitating a positive patient experience.
- Share patient success stories and testimonials (with consent) to build trust and showcase the impact of rehabilitation programs.
- Coordinate patient-focused events, such as recovery milestone celebrations or wellness workshops, to foster community connection.
Media and Digital Presence:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to manage social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), creating engaging content that highlights neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services.
- Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews with clinical staff or leadership to promote the center's expertise.
- Monitor online reputation and address patient feedback or reviews promptly and professionally.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and execute events such as open houses, health fairs, or professional networking sessions to increase awareness of rehabilitation services.
- Represent the organization at industry events, showcasing advanced technologies (e.g., robotic gait trainers, hydrotherapy) and integrated care models.
Reporting and Collaboration:
- Track and report on PR campaign outcomes, referral growth, and community engagement metrics to leadership.
- Work closely with marketing, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain a database of media contacts, referral sources, and community partners using CRM software.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of public relations or communications experience, with at least 1-2 years in a healthcare setting (e.g., hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation center).
- Prior experience in neuro or orthopedic rehabilitation or related healthcare fields is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to build trust and rapport in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and ethical communication practices.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Knowledge of neuro and orthopedic conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, joint replacements) and rehabilitation processes is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, content management systems (CMS), and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with women's health initiatives or patient advocacy groups focused on neurological or orthopedic conditions.
- Established network of media or healthcare contacts in the rehabilitation sector.
- Certification in public relations or healthcare communications (e.g., APR – Accredited in Public Relations) is a plus.
Work Environment:
- This role involves a mix of office-based work and external outreach, with occasional travel for events, conferences, or meetings with referral sources.
- May require evening or weekend availability for community events or media engagements.
- Collaborative work with clinical staff, marketing teams, and external partners in a patient-centered environment.
