We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Software Tester to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. This role requires strong proficiency in Java, Selenium WebDriver, Rest Assured for API testing, and XPath for robust element identification.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Implement and execute API automation tests using Rest Assured for RESTful web services.
  • Utilize XPath effectively for accurate and resilient identification of web elements within automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand new features and functionalities, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and report them accurately and clearly in a defect tracking system.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the automation framework and testing processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and provide detailed steps for reproducibility.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in software testing and automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
  • Expertise in Java programming language
    for test automation development.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
    for automating web applications (including advanced concepts like explicit waits, fluent waits, actions, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in API automation testing using Rest Assured.
  • Deep understanding and practical application of XPath
    for locating web elements, including creating dynamic and robust XPath expressions.
  • Experience with test frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and STLC.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of performance testing or security testing tools.
  • Experience with mobile automation testing (Appium).
  • ISTQB certification or other relevant certifications.
