We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team in Hadapsar, Pune

Vertiv is looking for a Mechanical CAD Design Engineer to be part of the DC UPS mechanical Design team within the Engineering Department, based in Hadapsar - Pune. He will be mainly focused on the DC UPS products.

What kind of work will you be doing?

• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on Industrial products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
• To design new products or re-engineer existing ones, with a focus on the mechanical aspects (mainly sheet metal), collaborating with suppliers, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the necessary product marketing inputs.
• To create and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
• To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility, improving, updating, reviewing the mechanical drawings according to the information from the Production, Procurement and Logistics departments, to simplify the assembly, reducing the costs and improving the quality.
• A high level of experienced CAD skill combined with a good attention to details.

What will make you successful?

• Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 1-3 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in the Industrial Electrical sectors.
• Good knowledge of light structural work processing is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Busbar Selection & Sizing.
• Understanding of Switchgear components used in electrical systems.
• Excellent knowledge of 3D/2D CAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office tools, particularly Solid Edge & PTC Creo. Knowledge of the management computer systems.
• Knowledge of technical norms, company procedures of basic detailed lists.
• Knowledge of technical drawings.
• Good knowledge of Bill of Materials structure and, eventually, their configurations.
• Capacity of taking decisions as for solving problems.
• Able to support & communicate between vendors, suppliers & cross-functional teams.
• English – good level – Written and spoken.
