LEAD DEVOPS ENGINEER I

Shell Recharge Solutions DevOps engineers must possess an "automation first" mindset, with a relentless focus on documentation, quality, scalability and reliability using Infrastructure as Code tools. Shell Recharge Solutions DevOps engineers enjoy being on the bleeding edge of technology, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and follow industry trends. They champion modern best practices and remain technology leaders within the company.

This position will be part of a great team that is developing exciting products and solutions and playing a key part in driving forward the electrification of transportation.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and oversee software and database deployments and design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Mentor and train DevOps, QA, and Product Development teams.
  • Define and technical and architectural specifications for AWS services and participate in groundup infrastructure design and planning for future products and services.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tuning the health of our environment and maintaining comprehensive documentation of our infrastructure and tools.
  • Refactor production infrastructure while making accurate decisions for future capacity, scaling and expansion.
  • Final technical escalation point for issues that spanning cross functional teams. Be an active contributor in incident meeting, RCA's and mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for incidents
  • You will also create and maintains policies, standards and overall system documentation.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10+ years recent experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • 3+ years operating Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, or related technologies in a production environment
  • 3+ years' experience with IAC/CM tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, Salt)
  • 3+ years recent experience AWS (preferred) Azure, AWS, GCP

Preferred Qualifications

  • High level of competency in networking, protocols, servers, storage systems, and Linux.
  • Mastery of at least one OOP programming language (JAVA, Python, .NET, C++, etc)
  • Can self-assess the needs of a system or team, and make a case to prioritize that work
  • Comfortable digging through metrics, logs, to triage and fix a problem.
  • You should be an excellent communicator that is easy to work with, you should be comfortable articulating concepts to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions.
