Job Type: Full-time / Shift-based

Salary Range: 4.0 LPA to 5.0 LPA

Job Purpose:

The Locomotive Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of railway locomotives to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role ensures compliance with railway safety standards and contributes to the reliability and availability of locomotives in the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of locomotives (diesel, electric, or hybrid) as per scheduled maintenance plans.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks in line with manufacturer specifications and railway standards.
• Test locomotives before and after maintenance to verify functionality and safety.
• Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists, and reports for each locomotive serviced.
• Assist in overhauls, upgrades, or retrofitting of locomotive systems.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians in depot environments.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in on-call duties and emergency repairs, if required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
• Relevant certifications in railway technology or locomotive maintenance are an advantage.
