Job Description :As a Senior SAP HANA Database Administrator at ZettaMine Labs, you will be a key member of our technical team, responsible for the comprehensive management and maintenance of SAP HANA database systems across multiple client projects. You will leverage your deep expertise in SAP HANA architecture, installation, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure the high availability, integrity, and optimal performance of critical SAP landscapes. This role demands a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within global teams.
Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of SAP HANA database architecture, including in-memory computing principles, data storage concepts (Row vs. Column), and deployment options.
- Participate in the planning and design of SAP HANA database landscapes to meet performance, scalability, and high availability requirements.
- Lead and execute SAP HANA database installations, upgrades, and patching activities.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, including system monitoring, user management, security configuration, and workload management.
- Manage SAP HANA services and ensure their continuous availability.
- Possess a strong understanding of Linux operating systems (preferably SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
- SLES or Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- RHEL) and their seamless integration with SAP HANA.
- Perform OS-level troubleshooting relevant to SAP HANA performance and stability.
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive SAP HANA backup and recovery strategies, including full, incremental, and differential backups.
- Perform regular backup validations and execute point-in-time recovery procedures as needed.
- Proactively monitor SAP HANA database performance using SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks, identify root causes of slowness, and implement effective tuning measures.
- Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for optimal performance.
- Analyze and resolve SAP HANA database outages, performance degradation issues, and various slowness scenarios in a timely and efficient manner.
- Utilize SAP HANA Studio and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve alerts and errors.
- Configure and manage SAP HANA monitoring tools and alerts within SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio.
- Proactively respond to and resolve alerts to prevent potential system disruptions.
- Manage SAP HANA database users, roles, and privileges according to security best practices and client requirements.
- Implement and maintain SAP HANA security configurations to protect sensitive data.
- Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to effectively handle SAP HANA system failures and outages, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Participate in root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Contribute to the development and execution of disaster recovery plans for SAP HANA environments.
- Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams, including BASIS administrators, application developers, and client stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and facilitate knowledge transfers within the team on SAP HANA database administration best practices and procedures.
- Mentor junior team members and share expertise.
Required Skills :
- 7+ Years of hands-on experience in SAP HANA Database Architecture, installation, upgrade, and administration.
- Minimum 5+ Years of experience in SAP HANA installation, upgrade, and patching.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems (SLES or RHEL preferred) and their integration with SAP HANA.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing SAP HANA backup and recovery methodologies, including point-in-time recovery.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve SAP HANA outages, performance issues, and slowness scenarios.
- Proficient in monitoring and resolving alerts from SAP HANA Studio and SAP HANA Cockpit.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA user management and security configurations.
