Job Description – Microbiologist/Quality Executive,

Position: Quality Executive/Microbiologist

Location: Patna

Department: Quality Control

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine microbiological testing of raw water, treated water, and final packaged drinking water as per BIS/IS 14543 standards.
  • Perform pathogen detection (e.g., E. coli, Total Coliform, Yeast & Mold, Salmonella, Pseudomonas) to ensure water safety.
  • Maintain and monitor sterile techniques, culture media preparation, and incubation conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI, and BIS drinking water guidelines.
  • Monitor environmental hygiene in the factory, including production areas, storage, and packaging lines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of microbiological analysis and generate test reports.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to quality and food safety.
  • Conduct physico-chemical analysis of raw water, treated water, and packaged drinking water as per IS 14543 standards.
  • Test for parameters like pH, TDS, Hardness, Alkalinity, Chlorides, Sulphates, Nitrates, Heavy Metals, Residual Chlorine, Fluoride, etc.
  • Operate and maintain lab instruments such as pH meter, TDS meter, Turbidity meter, Spectrophotometer, AAS (if available).
  • Ensure accurate calibration of equipment and maintain laboratory records.
  • Ensure compliance with BIS/FSSAI standards for packaged drinking water.
  • Support the production team by monitoring RO, UV, Ozonation, and disinfection processes.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly water quality reports.
  • Assist during regulatory inspections and audits.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Food Technologist, Chemistry, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Strong understanding of water quality parameters, testing methods and Knowledge of standard microbiological techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments (Autoclave, Laminar Flow, Incubator, Microscope, Colony Counter).
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a water/food/beverage industry (freshers with strong knowledge may be considered).
