Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java Full-stack Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our high-performance, scalable backend services and platforms in Fintech domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java, Spring ecosystems, and micro-services architecture, with a proven ability to translate complex requirements into clean, efficient, and reliable code. While the focus is on backend development, familiarity with front-end technologies is a plus to ensure seamless end-to-end system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development:
  Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications, micro services, and backend platforms using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and other relevant frameworks.
• API Development:
  Design and implement well-structured, secure, and efficient RESTful web services and APIs. Integrate with third-party APIs and data sources.
• Database Management:
  Work with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases. Design efficient schemas and write optimised queries using ORMs like JPA/Hibernate.
• System Architecture:
  Contribute to and help evolve our micro-services architecture. Implement best practices for service discovery, configuration management, and inter-service communication.
• Code Quality & Best Practices:
  Champion clean code principles, design patterns (e.g., Singleton, Factory, IOC, MVC), and coding standards. Conduct and participate in rigorous code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
• Performance Optimisation:
  Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, implement optimisations for scalability, and ensure system reliability under increasing load.
• Full SDLC Participation:
  Actively participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and front-end developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• DevOps & CI/CD:
  Utilise and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Problem Solving:
  Employ a methodical approach to debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex application issues in a timely manner.
• Documentation:
  Create and maintain clear technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.

Required Experience & Skills

• Education:
  Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience:
  5-8 years of hands-on, professional experience in Java/Spring-boot development.
• Core Java:
  Expert proficiency in Core Java (version 8 or later), with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, multi-threading, collections, and memory management.
• Spring Framework:
  Extensive hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem, including
  Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud
  .
• Web Services & APIs:
  Proven expertise in designing and building RESTful APIs. Understanding of SOAP, HTTP principles, and the web request lifecycle.
• Databases:
  Strong experience with relational databases (SQL, PL/SQL) and ORM tools (JPA, Hibernate). Working knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Micro-services & Architecture:
  Solid understanding and practical experience with micro-services architecture, distributed systems, and related patterns.
• Tools & DevOps:
  Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and modern development workflows. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Testing:
  Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, Spock, or similar frameworks. A strong advocate for test-driven development (TDD).
• Fundamentals:
  Excellent understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms (DSA), and software design patterns.
• Methodologies:
  Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Cloud Platforms:
Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS (preferred).

Messaging Systems:
Experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ for building event-driven architectures.

Front-End Awareness:
Exposure to front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular) is a significant plus.

Security:
Knowledge of authentication and authorisation protocols like OAuth2.

API Management:
Experience with tools like WSO2 API Manager, AWS API Gateway.

Certification:
Relevant certifications in Java or cloud technologies.
