*Job Overview*

The Data and Devices Business Unit in India is looking for high speed cable assembly Product Engineers to sustain and design microlite products. The Product Engineer is responsible for maintain existing DAC cable assembly product lines, optimize for new products. This position owns technical responsibility to solve technical problems, answer technical inquiries from internal or external customers. His/her major activities are in the areas of design, development, maintenance of cable assembly and systems.

The High Speed cable assembly Product Development Engineer determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinates support operations such as fabrication engineering samples and testing. Interaction with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas.

*What your background should look like:*

  • Minimum Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineering required (Mechanical / System discipline preferred)
  • At least 3 years of engineering experience in connector and cable assemblies
  • Basic knowledge of high-speed signal transmission preferred

Must have demonstrated experience in the following

  • Fundamental understanding of connector design and mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing techniques
  • Experience in development engineering and participation in full product development cycle
  • Demonstrated proficiency in 3D Design Applications, Creo or PDMLINK. ( ANSYS simulation optional)
  • Problem solving, customer complain handling, tolerance analysis
  • Understanding of basic raw material property including both metal and resin
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team working skills
  • English language is a must to work with a global team or customers in both written and oral communication.
  • Logic thinking with engineering discipline to guide daily work
  • SI (Signal Integrity) related design experience in high-speed signal transmission is a strong plus
  • Thermal management experience in high-speed signal transmission is another strong plus

Key Goals and Objectives:

  • On time delivery of technical outputs with quality & cost target

Key Tasks:

  • Microlite project and sustaining projects with all technical ownership.
  • Technical support for lower cost demand, customer demand or manufacturing demand, or procurement demand.
  • Determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinate and support operations such as fabrication of prototypes and testing.
  • Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales, and other engineering functions during mass production phase.
  • Execute technical documentation to fully detail design drawings and requirements, engineering and product change notices, and design history files.

Interfaces with internal and external disciplines

  • Reporting and regular communication to the engineering manager or project manager.
  • Advise and support manufacturing team and plants with technical solutions

    Support procurement second source and cost down demand.
  • Assess customer technical complaints and resolve design-related quality issues per QE demand
  • Adopt and adapt to relevant engineering standards and practices.
  • Specifically, Underwriters Laboratory and Electronic Industries Alliance Standards or equivalent
