Job description:

As the Principal Structural Engineer you have to utilize your technical expertise to develop safe and quality solutions in support of project and discipline requirements with minimal guidance. You need to ensure successful resolution of complex technical issues related to Structure to meet project and discipline deliverables. You need to engage with peers to promote knowledge sharing and act as a consultant and mentor to less experienced engineers to ensure knowledge transfer, product memory, and application of best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Primarily will have a major role in the structural engineering & greenfield design of offshore structures. Full knowledge in the analysis & design of the primary /secondary/tertiary for the full range of load conditions
• Must be able to take a hands-on -role in the design & analysis of structures as well as provide supervision/guidance  to working engineers and designers in problem solving
• Expert knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures. In depth knowledge with standard international specifications and codes i.e. British Standard codes, AISC codes, API, Euro codes, DNVGL etc.
• Have experience & well versant in any of the software- Sesam GeniE , FEMAP, STAAD-Pro, and SACS. Also, should have sound knowledge in developing the local calculations using spreadsheets/Mathcad/scripting for Genie etc.
• Planning and implementation of the Project to ensure that deliverables are issued on schedule, project milestone dates are met, and given tasks are completed within the allowed budget; Preparation of scope of work, man-hours distribution; Selection of resources in consultation with head of discipline to meet the specific job requirements
• Technical and administrative management of the engineers / designers / draftsmen team; Assignment and co-ordination of activities within the team to execute the design / procurement related activities of assigned projects
• Able to plan and work independently, reporting progress and schedule to team leaders and PMT
• Coordination with Project Managers / Lead Engineers from other Disciplines for the inter-disciplinary tasks
• Monitoring of job progress, identifying slippage and short comings and setting solutions and remedies in consultation with Project Manager (and Heads of Disciplines if required
• Have experience in  handling the queries arising from clients, comments from approval authority, contractors or other disciplines
• To coordinate the review and approval of vendor documents ensuring vendor specifications are in full compliance with contract requirements and meet with client equipment specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to EPC environments & Experience  in detailed Engineering projects is mandatory

Job requirements:

• Academic: Bachelor/Master of Technology – Civil/Structures(Preferably in Offshore structures)
• Exp: years relevant experience (min 4 yrs in Lead Role) in the offshore Oil & Gas industry (working with International Companies involved in Concept/FEED/Detailed engineering)with specific experience on Detail Engineering of Structural Analysis for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules ,Turret Mooring System, TLPs & Semi-submersibles
• SW or tools:       Sesam GeniE /SACS/FEMAP
