As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in AI-driven software engineering, providing deep technical expertise and guidance on complex topics.
  • Advises and support teams to execute department and project goals, coordinating efforts across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Leads the design, architecture, and implementation of LLM-driven agent services for design, code generation, documentation, test creation, and observability on AWS.
  • Architects and develop advanced orchestration and communication layers between agents using frameworks such as A2A SDK, LangGraph, or AutoGen.
  • Integrates AI agents with toolchains including Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, Terraform, and monitoring platforms.
  • Identifies gaps in information, analyze complex problems, and act as a preliminary escalation point for technical and project issues.
  • Plans and organize own work and, where applicable, manage and plan the work of others to ensure alignment with team and department priorities.
  • Collaborates on system design, SDK development, and data pipelines supporting agent intelligence.
  • Ensures adherence to best practices, security, and compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Mentors and provide technical leadership to engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
  • Experience in software engineering with a focus on AI technologies.
  • Complete understanding of software engineering methods, systems, and procedures; recognized as a subject matter expert in relevant technical domains.
  • Strong hands-on skills in Python with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI and Pydantic.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, including ECS and EKS.
  • Extensive experience with LLM integration, prompt/context engineering, and AI agent frameworks such as Langchain/LangGraph, Autogen, MCPs, and A2A.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work, coordinate across teams, and act as an escalation point for technical challenges.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Knowledge-Augmented Generation (KAG) techniques.
  • Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, including CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, automated deployment, and ML pipelines.
