Qualifications / Experience:
Graduate in Engineering - Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical & Electronics.
20+ years in Vehicle Testing function (CMVR Testing Bus, Truck & Trailer / Powertrain / Crash Barrier Testing).
At least 5+ years of experience in senior management leading a team of professionals.
Masters degree in related field of engineering is preferred.
Expected Responsibilities:
Lead and drive the testing and certification functions for all the track testing ranging from 2-3 wheelers to HCVs like bus / truck / trailer and special vehicles in line with applicable regulations.
Develop and implement strategic plans for each testing function to align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive testing protocols for complete vehicle evaluation in line with CMVR regulations / other applicable regulations.
Ensure that all testing activities meet industry standards, regulatory requirements and NATRAX policies.
SOPs are created and implemented for test operations.
Enhance testing operation through strong networking with existing and potential customers and attract them to utilize NATRAX services.
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results through proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment's.
Lead & drive vehicle crash barrier testing function.
Develop strong understanding of various standards and certification practices for Crash Barrier and other road safety equipment testing.
Develop Strong understanding of the testing methods and mechanisms used to perform crash testing.
Lead initiatives to enhance testing capabilities and efficiency.
Plan and prepare proposals for upgradation of test facilities in line with the applicable norms and effective utilization of budget/timeline.
Stay and keep the team updated with the latest advancements in automotive technology and testing methodologies.
Lead the activities for regulation formation through proactive participation in AIS / BIS committees.
Develop and maintain testing protocols for performance, safety, durability, impartiality and compliance.
Implement and maintain high standards of quality and safety in all testing activities.
Ensure that all team members are trained and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
Lead initiatives to enhance testing capacities and efficiency.
Ensure proper documentation in line with safety protocols and procedures to fulfil all the requirements of NABL system.
Encourage and enable team members to enhance skills for learning and professional development, offering a range of opportunities and resources in the organization.
Conduct technical sessions for new technological areas.
Desirable:
Proven experience in automotive testing and evaluation, with a focus on vehicle evaluation and powertrain lab function as per CMVR
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Strong knowledge of automotive technology, testing standards, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent computer skills.
Strong communication skills.
Trained / Certified in NABL Activities.
Project management and budgeting skills.
