Job Title: QA Tester / Test Engineer (IoT Domain)

Experience: 1 to 2 Years Location: Navi Mumbai Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented QA Tester to join our IoT product team. You'll be responsible for validating end-to-end functionality across mobile/web apps, IoT devices, and cloud platforms. This role involves working closely with developers, product managers, and hardware teams to ensure a seamless and reliable user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test cases for IoT systems — including devices, mobile/web apps, and backend APIs.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Validate device-to-cloud communication using MQTT, HTTP, or similar IoT protocols.
  • Conduct firmware validation and test hardware interactions (sensors, controllers, gateways).
  • Use tools like Postman, Swagger, or cURL to test REST APIs.
  • Participate in release testing, ensuring all device-app-cloud interactions perform as expected.
  • Assist in test automation setup (if applicable) for regression or API testing.
  • Collaborate with firmware and mobile/web teams to reproduce complex issues.
  • Prepare test reports and maintain detailed documentation of testing cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software testing.
  • Good understanding of IoT architecture — devices, cloud, and app layers.
  • Experience with manual testing of web and mobile applications.
  • Familiar with API testing (Postman, Swagger).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MQTT).
  • Knowledge of test case design, bug reporting, and defect life cycle.
  • Comfortable with tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to hardware testing or embedded systems.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or Shell) for automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD or test automation frameworks.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT).
