Job Summary

Medvega is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Lab Technician (Phlebotomist) to join our team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring accuracy, safety, and patient comfort. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Phlebotomist may work in clinical settings or support virtual healthcare operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specimen Collection

: Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples from patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Patient Interaction

: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety during the collection process.
- Sample Handling

: Properly label, handle, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Data Entry

: Accurately record patient information and test details in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Equipment Maintenance

: Clean and maintain phlebotomy equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use.
- Compliance

: Adhere to all applicable regulations, including those set by the Indian Medical Association, as well as Medvega's policies and procedures.
- Collaboration

: Work closely with healthcare providers, laboratory staff, and virtual medical assistants to ensure seamless patient care.
- Patient Education

: Provide patients with post-collection care instructions and address any questions or concerns.

Qualifications

  • Education

: Degree or Diploma in Medical Lab Technology  from a recognized institute in India
- Experience

: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.

  • Skills

:
- Proficient in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- computer skills.
