Job Summary :

Colan Infotech is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Manual Test Engineer with 35 years of experience for our Chennai office. We require an immediate joiner who possesses strong expertise in both Functional and Non-functional Testing. This role is critical for ensuring application quality across various aspects, including API validation, database integrity, and cloud environments, by applying robust test planning and design methodologies.

Key Responsibilities :

Manual Testing and Quality Assurance :

- Execute comprehensive Manual Testing, covering both Functional Testing and essential Non-functional Testing aspects (e.g., usability, security validation).

- Demonstrate strong knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), test planning, and various testing methodologies.

- Apply Proficiency in Test Case Design Techniques (e.g., boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning) to maximize test coverage.

- Maintain a detailed Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure all requirements are adequately tested and validated.

Specialized Testing and Tools :

- Conduct API Testing using specialized tools like Postman or similar platforms to validate backend service functionality and data contracts.

- Perform rigorous Database Testing by writing and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity, validate transactional behavior, and verify report accuracy.

- Gain exposure to Performance Testing by supporting execution using industry-standard tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

- Apply experience in Cloud Application Testing across major platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Process, Defect Management, and Collaboration :

- Manage and track all testing activities, defects, and tasks efficiently using Jira or similar Defect Management Tools.

- Utilize Test Case Management Tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) for effective organization and maintenance of test artifacts.

- Apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately diagnose and report complex software defects.

- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications :

- Experience: Mandatory 35 years of hands-on experience in Manual Testing.

- Core Testing Skills (Mandatory): Strong expertise in Functional Testing and practical experience with Non-functional Testing principles.

- Technical Testing: Proven experience with API Testing (using tools like Postman) and solid experience in Database Testing (SQL proficiency).

- Tools & Process: Experience with Jira for defect tracking, Test Case Management Tools, and familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM).

- Methodology: Strong knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, and Test Case Design Techniques.

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to Performance Testing Tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

- Direct experience in testing applications deployed on a specific cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
