Interview Mode:--Candidates must attend F2F interview in Hyderabad(Weekdays only)

Primary Skills : Cisco routing, Switching, Palo Alto- Firewall,Sdwan,WirelessJuniper Mist

Duration of the project: Contract to Hire L2-Network engineer(6 Months)

Should be willing to work in 24/7 shift, Every 3 months shift will rotate

Office Address : Cyber Towers, Quadrant 3, 3rd floor, Madhapur, Hyderabad

Experience Level: 6-9 Years

Essential duties & responsibilities:

The L2 Network Engineer provides advanced troubleshooting and manages incident resolution, configuration changes, handles medium to high-risk changes, and escalations from L1. This role requires strong hands-on skills in Cisco routing and switching, Palo alto firewalls, SD-WAN (Velocloud preferably or Viptela) and wireless technologies (Mist, Meraki). etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve medium-to-complex incidents across Cisco switches, SD-WAN (Velocloud Preferred) and Palo alto Firewalls.
  • Perform configuration changes (routing, switching, firewall rules, Wi-Fi policies).
  • Support and manage Cisco switches, Palo alto firewalls, Velocloud SD-WAN and Wi-Fi policies.
  • Mentor and guide L1 engineers on troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Participate in change management activities including upgrades and patching.
  • Support Wi-Fi deployments, engineering activities and handle L1 escalations.
  • Troubleshoot all kinds of network performance, availability and capacity related issues.
  • Monitoring network alerts, tickets and dashboards.
  • Manage and maintain network monitoring system.
  • Collaborate with Level 3 engineers and network architects on complex issues.
  • Provide root cause analysis of all critical outages.
  • Execute critical network tasks and configurations as required as per change controls.
  • Provides VPN related support to end users.
  • Publish, manage SOPs, KB articles and other project documentation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, device configurations, and (SOPs).
  • Participate in planned maintenance and scheduled downtime activities.
  • Upgrade firmware/Software of network devices.
  • Pick up the tickets escalated from L1 team.
  • Coordinate with different vendors like Cisco, Paloalto or with ISPs to resolve ongoing issues.
  • Participate in Engineering tasks or Projects assigned.
  • Execute medium to high level risk configuration changes.
  • Work on high and low severity tickets (incidents, changes and requests) and adhere to the SLA process.
  • Work on EOL hardware upgrades and ensure the asset management is up to date.
  • Execute any DNS/DHCP changes.

Required Skills & Technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching (VLANs, Trunking, and Inter-VLAN Routing, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, ACL, NAT/PAT, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, QoS, MPLS)
  • Hands on with Palo alto Firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge on WIFI solutions -MIST, Meraki,Cisco WLCs
  • Good knowledge in IPAM/DDI platforms.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (SolarWinds)and ticketing platforms.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes- Incident, Problem and change management is must.
  • Wireless technologies (Mist, Merkai,Cisco WLCs).
