Coffee Barista

Overview:

At Rainfed Cafe, a Coffee Barista plays a key role in creating memorable experiences for our customers. The barista is responsible for greeting customers, taking and preparing orders, serving beverages and food, and maintaining a clean and organized café environment. This role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering friendly, personalized service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:

• Welcome customers warmly and take orders accurately.

• Build rapport with customers, answering questions and addressing concerns to ensure a positive experience.

• Offer personalized recommendations based on customer preferences.

• Beverage Preparation:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty drinks, according to Rainfed Cafe standards.

• Ensure consistency and quality in every cup served.

• Food Service:

• Prepare and serve food items in line with café standards, ensuring presentation and quality.

• Product Knowledge:

• Maintain thorough knowledge of Rainfed Cafe's offerings, including coffee origins, roasting styles, and flavour profiles.

• Share insights with customers to enhance their experience.

• Cleanliness & Maintenance:

• Keep workstations, equipment, and the café clean, organized, and well-maintained.

• Follow all hygiene, safety, and operational protocols.

• Point of Sale (POS) Operations:

• Accurately handle cash and process payments using the café's POS system.

• Ensure smooth and efficient transaction handling.

• Inventory & Restocking:

• Monitor supplies such as coffee beans, milk, and condiments.

• Restock retail and back-of-house inventory as needed.

• Teamwork:

• Collaborate effectively with fellow team members to maintain a smooth café operation.

• Support colleagues during busy periods and maintain a positive work environment.

Skills & Requirements:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently during peak hours.
• Skilled in operating coffee machines and preparing quality beverages.
• Knowledge of coffee types, roasting techniques, and brewing methods.
• Strong teamwork and hospitality mindset.
• Passion for coffee and creating a welcoming café experience.
