Role & responsibilities

1. Plant Operations and Management:

  • Manage and monitor day-to-day operations of the solvent recovery plant, including distillation columns, reactors, condensers, and other associated equipment.
  • Execute production schedules to ensure the timely recovery of solvents to meet the needs of the manufacturing plant.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting procedures for process equipment.
  • Assist operators in resolving technical issues and handling emergencies during operations.

2. Process Optimization and Improvement:

  • Analyze and optimize processes to maximize solvent recovery yields, reduce cycle times, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for energy conservation and cost reduction through process improvements.
  • Perform laboratory testing to validate and improve recovery and purification methods.

3. Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Analyze recovered solvents to ensure they meet required quality and purity specifications for reuse in pharmaceutical production.
  • Ensure all recovery and purification processes comply with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) department to resolve any deviations or issues with recovered solvent quality.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, including issuing work permits (hot work, cold work, confined space entry).
  • Comply with all environmental regulations concerning the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all activities, including batch records, daily reports, and environmental compliance reports.
  • Conduct safety training for subordinates and promote a strong safety culture within the plant.

5. Inventory and Logistics:

  • Manage the inventory of both fresh and recovered solvents, tracking stock levels and coordinating transfers to and from the production areas.
  • Prepare for and receive deliveries of fresh solvents as needed.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to minimize equipment downtime.
