Fiber Network Engineer

GPON & Network Deployment

Design, install, and configure GPON/FTTx networks (OLT, ONT, splitters, patch panels).

Plan and supervise fiber routes, splicing, and termination work.

Perform OTDR testing, power loss measurement, and link budget analysis.

Splicing & Field Operations

Lead and guide splicing teams for OSP and ISP fiber projects.

Ensure accurate splicing, jointing, and termination with proper documentation.

Maintain fiber route maps, splice diagrams, and patch records.

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Handle escalations for fiber cuts, GPON faults, and service disruptions.

Troubleshoot OLT/ONT issues, backbone, and distribution fiber links.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead a team of 4–5 engineers

Assign tasks, train staff in GPON/splicing best practices.

Coordinate with civil/OSP contractors for fiber laying and restoration work.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain network performance records, outage logs, and splicing data.

Prepare daily/weekly reports on faults, maintenance, and utilization.

Strong knowledge of FTTx architecture, OLT/ONT configuration, and optical splitters.

Hands-on experience in splicing, OTDR testing, power meter usage.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).

Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
