We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President Financial Accounting HBUK

Principal responsibilities 

Skills required

Very strong Accounting & reporting skills Able to provide strategic direction and manage Business Partner relationshipsProficient analytical review skills; ability to add value to customer deliverables through understanding of the business / lateral thinkingPre-empt issues or concerns and flag these off to business partner in a timely mannerHave an eye to detail to ensure that there is 100% review of all deliverables

Accounting skills 

Have in-depth understanding of IFRS and various aspects of itHands on knowledge of FTP/SaracenUnderstanding of financial reporting – IFRS/Finrep/GSIB/CE Proficient in excelAdvanced capability to understand, analyse and interpret numeric data. Excellent Communication and Inter person skills – Both verbal and written

Risks& Controls

Responsible for maintaining documentation per RCA and SOX requirementEnsure SOPs are updated all times and tested by back ups Adherence to Group policies (FIM/DIM), IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements Ensure testing of processes per BC plan Robust back up planning for uninterrupted service delivery

Customer/ Stakeholder 

Excellent communication skills to be able to understand and provide satisfactory service delivery to In-Country team Relationship Management with senior managers and at a process levelMonitoring PerformancePro-active approach to be able to deal with new requirements, ad-hoc requests and unusual variances

Good to have additional skills

Knowledge of automation tools like Python, Xceptor will be an added advantage.Must have an analytical bent of mind and ability to work for solutions to the adhoc queries.Prior experience of working on any:Workflow solutions such as Appian;Data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense;

Leadership & Teamwork 

Ability to manage and lead the Ledger close and Financial Reporting process Presenting financial report to senior stake holders for their review and signoff Responsible for meeting the defined SLAs, managing good relationship with the stakeholders, maintaining and developing robust controls in the processEnsure adherence to audit, assurance and compliance requirements.Ensure high quality of output is delivered e.g. financial data in the reports etc. is accurately and correctly presentedDrive change initiatives within the processCo-ordinate & effectively communicate with other teams in diverse locations across in-country / GSC

Qualications:

CA/MBA with 10+ years of qualification experience Experience of working in Financial Services Industry in ledger close and reporting processesExperience of working with processes involving IFRS/Local GAAPWould be responsible for ensuring assurance related to balance sheet accounts including substantiation and adherence to FIMShould be proficient in financial statement closure procedures.Prior experience on IFRS/Finrep Reporting is mustHigh level understanding of risk & controls / complianceProject management / PowerPoint and presentation skillsGood understanding of FTP, Saracen, Tableau Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their applicationShould have demonstrated ability of driving resultsExperience of interacting with internal and external auditorsExperience of assurance and compliance reviews/ SOX related reviews preferredCapability to understand, analyse and interpret numeric data. Excellent Communication and Inter person skills – Both verbal and written
