Your Impact

You will be working on sophisticated, industrial, real-time operating systems involving real-time data acquisition and post-processing of data for analysis and reporting. This team of engineers develops innovative monitoring systems used for grid monitoring, gas-insulated switchgear, and power generation in electrical substations and power plants.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will demonstrate your proficiencies in:

  • Embedded systems and firmware development with a focus on Linux and real-time embedded systems.
  • Developing advanced firmware solutions for critical substation monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Supporting the development team by providing pre-qualification and verification testing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting product transition to mass manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with sales and support teams post-release to meet customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Following and continuously improving software development and validation processes.
  • Applying Scrum/Agile methodology in firmware development.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelors or Master's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in embedded systems architecture within a real-time RTOS environment (high-speed serial I/O, embedded processors).
  • Experience with DSP programming and familiarity with Matlab/Python for prototyping or algorithm development.
  • Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, with coding experience in real-time, multi-threaded environments.
  • Hands-on experience with peripheral interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, external memory, and ADCs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause determination and issue resolution.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of unit test frameworks for Linux.
  • Programming experience with device drivers.
  • Exposure to fault location, fault recording, and/or power quality systems.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity implementation in embedded systems.
