Responsibilities

  • Lesson Planning: Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to IELTS exam requirements for both group and one-on-one sessions.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions covering all four modules: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Assessment: Develop, administer, and grade practice tests to measure student progress.
  • Feedback: Provide detailed and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills.
  • Student Guidance: Motivate and guide students, offering personalized study plans and support, including help with test anxiety and time management.
  • Curriculum Maintenance: Stay updated on the latest IELTS exam trends, formats, and scoring criteria.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

Qualifications and skills

  • English Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Experience: Experience in teaching or training is often required, with a preference for specific IELTS preparation experience (e.g., 1-2 years).
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Certifications: Certifications like TEFL/TESOL or a specific IELTS Trainer certification can be an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the IELTS test format and scoring criteria.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and student-handling skills.

Additional duties

  • Assisting with administrative tasks like student admissions, visa applications, and pre/post-departure services is sometimes required, depending on the employer.
  • Creating supplementary educational materials.
  • Potentially advising students on selecting test dates and centers.
