Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will be part of Arise's core engineering team, working directly with the CEO and product team to build a scalable, global education platform. You will own end-to-end feature development, driving scalability, system performance, and integration excellence. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence millions of students.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable APIs and microservices using / or similar frameworks.

Optimize system performance for large-scale data and concurrent user handling.

Ensure system reliability, security, and fault tolerance.

Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams for seamless delivery.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

Contribute to architecture decisions, technology choices, and backend scalability design.

Implement monitoring, debugging, and continuous performance improvements.

Stay current with emerging backend technologies and integrate innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of professional backend development experience.

Strong proficiency in , , and microservices architecture.

Solid understanding of web application architecture, SQL/NoSQL databases, and caching strategies.

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system design capabilities.

Fast learner with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.

Preferred Background

Prior experience in a B2C product-based startup environment.

Hands-on experience in system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
