About the role

As a Staff engineer, you will be applying your in-depth knowledge and experience in PCB designing using Allegro Cadene tool. You will be working closely with team members across our global development team, so your spoken and written communication needs to be clear and effective to be able to present your ideas, your concepts, and your feedback. You will be problem-solving on new product development, identifying and resolving root causes of field failures and implementing effective cost reduction opportunities.

What you will be doing

• Independently handling PCB layout for High power, High Speed, Flex, multi-layer PCBs from netlist to Gerber release
• Designing PCBs using Cadence allegro software
• Designing PCB as per the specs provided by Technical Team, Maintain and update PCB Design Documents, Participate in Design Reviews, PCB Inspection/ Testing
• Performing updates according to change in customer or internal requirements
• Designing PCBs keeping Thermal & EMIC/EMC considerations
• Work on stackup and plane creation
• Define Creepage and clearance requirement based on the UL & safety requirements
• Creation of BOM, fabrication & assembly drawings for ECO Process
• Cadence automation using Skill script
• Propose process improvements to ensure PCB functionality, quality and reliability
• Identify technical risks and challenges and propose action plans at the right time
• Verify existing designs and recommend improvements
• Mentor Juniors for good practices and best design practices
• Supplier interactions & Co-ordination
• Factory Interaction, Co-ordination, build support & preparation
• Travel local & International for work related assignments
• Travel to local & International Suppliers when there is a need

Who you are and what you bring

• 8+ years (with BE / BS) or 6+ years (with Masters) of industry work experience in product design & development
• Should have good Experience in Designing Power electronics, High speed, High Voltage PCB and Multi-layer PCB is a must
• Strong experience in Cadence Allegro tool preferably 23.1)
• Design to meet IEC standards of EMC/EMI, Surge, EFT, Safety and Reliability
• Must have worked in Stacked and complex boards with high layer count
• Should individually handle PCB Layout from Schematic creation to Gerber Release
• Experience in Power and Signal Integrity analysis
• Experience in DFM/DFX and Thermal analysis
• Able to work with cross functional team like Supply Chain, Mechanical and designers to understand the requirement and deliver the PCB layout with high quality
• Should be Self-driven, motivated and show high productivity in PCB design and development
• In-depth knowledge of PCB fabrication process and Assembly
• Good Understanding of SVN/Windchill PLM/Arena/Product Data Management (PDM) Tools based release and change order process and PCB lifecycle Processes
• IPC process certified in PCB Designing will be an advantage
• Knowledge on Skill scripting to automate cadence tool functions
