Position: Accountant
Location: Remote (India-based)
Reports to: CFO / Head of Accounts (Malta HQ)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Accountant based in India to manage accounts and compliance for both India and Malta entities. The candidate must have strong knowledge of Indian accounting and taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax) and will be trained in Maltese VAT, payroll, and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
India Operations
- Maintain accurate books of accounts as per Indian GAAP.
- File GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns on time.
- Handle bank reconciliations, vendor payments, and receivables tracking.
- Prepare financial statements and reconciliation reports.
- Assist with statutory audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with MCA/ROC filings.
Malta Operations (Training will be provided)
- Enter and reconcile invoices, receipts, and expenses in Zoho Books / Xero.
- Support preparation of Maltese VAT returns (training provided).
- Assist in payroll processing for Malta employees.
- Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and management reports.
- Support audits and prepare audit schedules.
- Manage inter-company reconciliations.
Qualifications & Skills
- M.Com / CA-Inter / MBA (Finance).
- Minimum 35 years accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Indian GST, TDS, and Income Tax – mandatory.
- Willingness to learn Maltese VAT and payroll – training provided.
- Proficiency in Tally / Zoho Books / Xero / QuickBooks and MS Excel.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with international teams.
