iSeries Support & Maintenance Specialist – Manhattan PkMS

Role Summary:

We are looking for a resource to provide ongoing support and maintenance for our iSeries (AS/400) environment, specifically focused on the Manhattan PkMS application. The person will troubleshoot issues, maintain system performance, handle user requests, and ensure smooth operation of warehouse and distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for the iSeries platform, with focus on Manhattan PkMS.

·      Monitor system performance, identify issues, and resolve problems quickly.

·      Work with end users to troubleshoot and fix application or system errors.

·      Apply patches, updates, and system enhancements as required.

·      Assist in configuring and tuning the application to meet business requirements.

·      Support processes like Receiving, Putaway, Cycle Count, Picking, Packing, and Shipping.

·      Perform minimal coding or scripting related to workflows, reports, and interfaces.

·      Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams to ensure smooth operations.

·      Document system issues and resolutions; create and maintain support documentation.

·      Ensure data integrity and system security by following best practices.

·      Participate in scheduled maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery exercises.

·      Communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical users.

Technical Skills Required (Minimal Coding/Configuration):

·      Basic knowledge of
Manhattan PkMS configuration tools
, including workflow setups and parameter adjustments.

·      Experience with
CL (Control Language)
scripting on iSeries for automation tasks.

·      Understanding of
SQL
or
Query/400
for writing simple data queries and reports.

·      Exposure to
RPGLE
or
ILE
coding for minor modifications or troubleshooting existing programs.

·      Experience with
data file structures
, table relationships, and indexing in iSeries.

·      Familiarity with
batch processing
, scheduling jobs, and monitoring system queues.

·      Ability to create and maintain
custom reports
, alerts, and interfaces.

·      Knowledge of
FTP
,
file transfers
, and integration points with other systems.

Required Qualifications:

·      Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience supporting iSeries (AS/400) systems, especially Manhattan PkMS.

·      Experience with warehouse or distribution processes like inventory, shipping, and receiving.

·      Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system analysis skills.

·      Ability to configure and tune applications on iSeries systems.

·      Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

·      Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Optional Qualifications:

·      Knowledge of transportation or logistics systems.
