Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and safety-focused PTW Machine Operator to join our production team in the Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) manufacturing unit. The role involves operating key fabrication machines such as CNC plasma cutters, shearing, bending, or drilling machines under strict Permit to Work (PTW) procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure quality output while maintaining high safety standards in a heavy steel fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machines such as CNC profile cutting, punching, shearing, press brake, or beam drilling machines used in PEB component fabrication.
  • Work in compliance with the company's Permit to Work (PTW) system, especially in high-risk or confined space tasks.
  • Perform machine setups based on production drawings, job orders, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper handling of steel components such as columns, rafters, purlins, and other PEB elements.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished components to meet dimensional and quality specifications.
  • Maintain PTW documentation and safety checklists as per site standards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety incidents, or quality deviations to the supervisor immediately.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and assist the maintenance team as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules, including PPE usage, housekeeping, and hazard identification procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating machines in a steel fabrication or PEB manufacturing setup.
  • Sound knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) processes and safety protocols in industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Familiar with material handling procedures and machine safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality output.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in PEB industry or structural steel fabrication.
  • Certification in PTW, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and other safety systems.
  • Forklift/crane operation certification (optional but preferred).
  • Familiarity with CNC or automated fabrication systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Fabrication shop or manufacturing floor (steel/metal structures).
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heavy machinery, and hot/cold conditions.
  • Use of PPE is mandatory (safety shoes, gloves, helmet, etc.).
