Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineer to lead our Service & Repair vertical under Customer Support. This role is responsible for managing a 25+ member technical team involved in servicing, repair, and maintenance of drone systems deployed across varied sectors. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on drone experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of service operations. You will drive operational efficiency, create & implement service procedures, assign workloads, generate performance reports, and continuously elevate the team's capabilities. This is a key leadership role for ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Team & Operational Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 25+ service engineers and technicians.

  • Distribute workload efficiently while ensuring quality and timely resolution of service issues.

  • Monitor team performance, identify gaps, and implement upskilling plans.

  • Act as a bridge between the Customer Support Head and the ground-level service teams.

  • Manage a geographically distributed team stationed at various service/maintenance hubs, including customer locations.

  • Plan and execute quarterly team rotations to ensure a healthy and engaging work environment.

Drone Service & Repair Oversight:

  • Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of UAV systems.

  • Oversee post-service flight testing, software updates, sensor calibration, and maintenance logs.

  • Ensure all repairs meet operational and safety standards.

Process Design & Implementation:

  • Draft, implement, and standardize SOPs for service, repair, and testing activities.

  • Continuously improve service workflows based on feedback and performance metrics.

  • Coordinate closely with R&D, QA, Production and Manufacturing to align on repair standards and updates.

Reporting & Data Analytics:

  • Maintain detailed service records and generate weekly/monthly performance dashboards.

  • Analyze recurring issues, turnaround times, part usage trends, and team KPIs.

  • Submit insights and improvement plans to the Customer Support Management.

Inventory & Compliance:

  • Ensure optimal inventory of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment.

  • Maintain documentation for audits, service logs, and regulatory compliance.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of drone systems (hardware & software), sensors, gimbals, and flight controllers.

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting drone issues, both electrical and mechanical.

  • Excellent team management and leadership qualities.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, dashboards.

  • Ability to document processes, write SOPs, and train teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication (Hindi & English).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 7–8 years of total experience with minimum 3 years in UAV/drone industry.

  • Prior experience in leading a service or repair team is mandatory.

  • Exposure to customer-facing service delivery roles is a plus.
