Job Title: Endoscopy Technician
Department: Endoscopy / Gastroenterology
Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Gastroenterologist
Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing endoscopy rooms, assisting doctors during procedures, handling and sterilizing equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the endoscopy process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare procedure rooms with required instruments and supplies.
- Assist doctors during endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and related procedures.
- Handle endoscopic equipment, light sources, processors, and monitors.
- Perform thorough cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of scopes as per protocol.
- Maintain equipment logs, calibration records, and consumable stock.
- Ensure proper labelling and dispatch of biopsy samples.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures for safety.
- Follow infection control and safety standards strictly.
- Support in patient positioning, counselling, and documentation.
- Report equipment malfunction immediately to biomedical/engineering team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma / Certificate in Endoscopy Technology
- Minimum 2 –3 years of experience preferred (freshers may also apply).
- Knowledge of GI procedures and scope reprocessing techniques.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments.
Work Conditions:
- Rotational duty as per departmental requirement.
- Must adhere to hospital policies, safety norms, and confidentiality guidelines.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15, ₹20,000.00 per month
