Software Engineer

Job Description SummaryResponsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining software applications & services. Working in the areas of machine, cloud, platform and/or application. Responsible for software lifecycle including activities such as requirement analysis, documentation/procedures and implementation.
You will work independently at the same time collaborate with all other roles within the teams to ensure project meets organizational standards and customer needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, conduct unit test, and maintain microservices for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.

  • Design and develop solutions on cloud platform, preferably on AWS.

  • Provide technical expertise in areas of AWS.

  • A solid understanding of SQL, relational database management system, data modelling, and normalization.

  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Proven expertise (2 years) in Python with Object Oriented experience, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework.

  • Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, multi-process architecture, Python data structures, and Python packaging

  • Debugging and unit testing skills using a well-known and accepted unit testing framework

  • Good understanding of Database queries

  • Knowledge of Python frameworks (e.g: Flask, Django)

  • Knowledge (2 years) on RESTful API design and implementation

  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.

  • Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.

  • Displays understanding of the project's value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
