OHL Design Engineer

Essential Responsibilities:

• You'll provide technical expertise in bids and proposals and represent the Company in client
meetings as a senior member of the OHL team, applying your experience and expertise to a
range of exciting and interesting projects.

• You will provide technical engineering expertise in delivering overhead line design on complex
multi-discipline projects. This encompasses PLS-CADD modelling, meticulous line routing,
comprehensive structural analysis and loading trees, formulation of design criteria, precise sag
tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations,
strategic structural spotting, thorough clearance reports, and judicious conductor and insulator
selection.

• Take responsibility for assigned project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement for
overhead line works within projects.

• Provide expert technical evaluations and offer problem-solving solutions to different team
members. Contribute to written proposals outlining all project details, including the timeline,
resources, budget, objectives, and goals.

• Undertake feasibility studies, performing conductor thermal ratings, and ensuring compliance with
industry standards and regulations. Conduct studies to identify a technically preferred
solution/layout to present to the client.

• Ensure your work meets safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.

• Ensure adherence to Enzen and client design management processes while leading project and
client meetings as needed.

• Conduct thorough analysis of the existing network to identify operational challenges and
reengineer the electrical scheme to meet both techno-commercial and regulatory requirements.
This applies to all voltage levels from 11kV to 400kV, considering the system holistically in its As
Is condition.

• Analyse and interpret results from power system simulation software to develop appropriate and
robust electrical design schemes.

• Develop the technical design for future-proof electrical networks, including preparation of
associated drawings and detailed technical specifications.

• Engage with customers to present and deliberate on technical designs, drawings, and
specifications, ensuring alignment with local requirements and addressing any necessary
deviations for acceptance.
Requisite work experience and skill set:

• Knowledge of Transmission Line Design Standards

• Working knowledge in power system simulation software (NEPLAN, ETAB, DigSilent,Dinish,
PSSE-Sincal or similar product)

• Preparation of Technical design reports .

• Working knowledge of Transmission system design work including OH Line Route Selection,
network protection, Lightning Protection, Corona Effect Analysis Structural Engineering, GIS
systems, CAD systems etc.

• Good communication and report writing skills, Team Handling skills & Project Management skills.

Career Level: 5-10 Years or above experience of OHL design for Transmission Network systems
projects or in any utility. Experience in developed countries viz. US / UK will be advantageous.

Location: At client's site in UK initially for familiarization & kick off for at least 1 year and then offshore
support from Bangalore, India

Education: B.E / B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics or in Electromechanical Engineering.
