Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to prepare accurate technical drawings and layouts for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and drafting software. The role involves close coordination with design engineers, production teams, and project managers to ensure precise and production-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
- Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, GA (General Arrangement) drawings, and part details.
- Develop BOM (Bill of Materials) and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Modify and revise drawings based on engineering feedback and site requirements.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines.
- Prepare layout drawings for machines, equipment, piping, and structures.
- Coordinate with design engineers for clarifications and technical inputs.
- Support production and fabrication teams with updated drawings and technical details.
- Maintain proper documentation control and drawing revisions.
- Assist in site measurements and as-built drawings when required.
- Ensure accuracy in dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes.
Required Skills & Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Knowledge of SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor (preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of piping layouts, pressure vessels, tanks, or process equipment (if applicable).
- Good knowledge of BOM preparation and material specifications.
- Understanding of ISO, ASME, and other relevant industry standards.

Educational Qualification:
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting (Mandatory).
- Certification in AutoCAD / Mechanical Design is an added advantage.
