Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Pharmacist holding a valid registration with the Delhi Pharmacy Council. The candidate should have 25 years of experience in a hospital setup, preferably in an Eye Hospital. The incumbent will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, maintaining stock records, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, and providing patient counseling on prescribed drugs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed medicines to patients with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify prescriptions for dosage, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
  • Maintain inventory of medicines, consumables, and controlled substances as per norms.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of all drugs.
  • Maintain records and documentation as per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and NABH standards.
  • Support doctors and nursing staff in identifying suitable drug alternatives or availability.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards related to pharmacy operations.
  • Check expiry dates and manage returns or disposal of expired medicines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pharmacy area.
  • Counsel patients on the correct usage and side effects of prescribed medications.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Educational Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm)
  • Registration: Must have a valid registration with the Delhi Pharmacy Council
  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy (experience in Eye Hospital will be preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of drugs and their interactions
  • Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with computer-based inventory and billing systems
  • Ability to work in a team and under minimal supervision
