Job description

We are seeking an experienced C# Azure APIM Developer to join our Enterprise Applications team for a hands-on development role. We are looking for a proactive and skilled professional to build and implement enterprise-grade APIs within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Working closely with the Application Integrations Head and the API Architect, you will be a key technical contributor to the migration of our enterprise APIs from MuleSoft to Azure APIM. Following the migration, you will focus on the ongoing development of new APIs. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing secure, scalable, and performant API solutions based on the established architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native apps using Azure services.
• Develop and deploy serverless compute solutions using Azure Function Apps to support backend
• processing and integrations.
• Work with Azure App Services, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, and other platform services.
• Contribute to the technical migration of APIs from the MuleSoft platform to Azure API Management ensuring functional parity, performance, and security.
• Collaborate closely with the API Architect on API design, providing valuable technical input and feedback throughout the design and development lifecycle.
• Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using C# and the .NET Framework, translating architectural designs into high-quality, efficient code.
• Implement, configure, and manage APIs within the Azure API Management (APIM) platform, including
• setting up policies for security, rate limiting, caching, and request/response transformation.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of APIs and backend services, leveraging caching mechanisms like Azure Cache for Redis.
• Utilize the Azure Portal and Azure CLI for resource management, deployment, and configuration.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Application Insights to ensure API reliability.
• Collaborate with business analysts and other team members to refine requirements and define API contracts (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for the implemented solutions.
• Participate in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Overall 8+ years of professional IT development experience with 5+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise applications with C# and .NET (including .NET Core/.NET 6+).
• Proven, in-depth experience with Azure API Management (APIM), demonstrating strong knowledge of policy configuration, versioning, and security implementation.
• Strong proficiency in developing and deploying Azure Function Apps and other serverless
• technologies.
• Solid understanding of core Azure services, particularly Azure App Service, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Cache for Redis, Azure SQL Database, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Storage.
• Expertise in RESTful API design principles and web standards.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, diagnostics, and monitoring within Azure, using tools like Application Insights and Log Analytics.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, preferably using Azure DevOps.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
