Overview The role of a Medical Biller is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by managing the billing and claims process. As a Part Time Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical claims, communicating with insurance companies, and maintaining patients' financial records.Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing data and claim submissions
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and government regulations
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resubmit as necessary
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and appeal denied claims
  • Communicate with patients regarding their bills and payment options
  • Process payments and refunds
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Utilize billing software and electronic medical records systems
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis
  • Stay updated on coding and billing changes
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Billing preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing or coding
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding
  • Knowledge of billing regulations and insurance guidelines
  • Experience with electronic billing systems and EMR software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with medical billing software such as Mediclaim, Kareo, or AdvancedMD
  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is a plus
