At Aviato Consulting, you won't just be filling a role; you'll be joining a team that's shaping the future of how Australian businesses use Google Cloud. Here's what that means for you:
- Expand Your Skillset: You'll be constantly learning and growing, not just through client projects but also through dedicated experimentation time. Want to explore new tools, compare different approaches, or dive deep into a specific technology? We encourage it.
- Work with Diverse Clients: You'll gain exposure to a variety of industries and business models, working with clients across different sectors. This breadth of experience will accelerate your professional development.
- Shape Our DevOps Practices: You'll have a voice in how we work. As we grow our DevOps team, you'll help us define best practices, refine our CI/CD pipelines, and build a world-class engineering culture.
What You'll Do (Beyond the Usual):
- Be a Cloud Architect and Builder: You won't just be maintaining existing infrastructure. You'll be designing and building new solutions from the ground up, leveraging the best of Google Cloud, with a strong focus on GKE, serverless functions (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Own Your Projects: You'll have significant ownership and autonomy, working directly with clients to understand their needs, propose solutions, and see them through to completion. You will feel a direct impact from the work you do.
- Experiment and Innovate: We're committed to staying at the forefront of cloud technology. You'll have the opportunity to experiment with new tools and services (want to compare Terraform with Pulumi? Go for it), contributing to our evolving best practices.
- Master Infrastructure as Code: You'll be hands-on with Terraform, building and managing complex infrastructure deployments. You'll write clean, modular, and reusable code, and you'll contribute to our internal library of Terraform modules.
- Deep Dive into GKE and Serverless: You'll become an expert in deploying and managing containerized applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including configuring networking, security, and autoscaling. You'll also design and implement serverless solutions using Cloud Functions and Cloud Run, creating event-driven architectures.
- Champion DevOps Best Practices: You'll help us build and refine our CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy, ensuring automated, reliable, and secure deployments. You'll also be involved in writing clear, concise documentation.
- Collaborate and Grow: You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, sharing your knowledge and learning from others. We encourage continuous learning and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Become a Google Cloud Certified Expert: We value certifications and will support you in obtaining relevant Google Cloud certifications (Professional Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
What You Bring to the Table:
- Proven Google Cloud Experience: At least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform, with a demonstrable understanding of core services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM).
- Strong Terraform Skills: You're comfortable writing and managing Terraform code, including modules, state management, and understanding of best practices. You understand how to use Terraform efficiently.
- GKE and/or Serverless Enthusiasm: You have experience with Kubernetes (ideally GKE) or serverless technologies (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run), and a strong desire to deepen your expertise in both.
- DevOps Mindset: You understand the principles of DevOps, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Problem-Solving Prowess: You're a natural problem-solver, able to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You can communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and you're comfortable interacting directly with clients.
- Solid Coding: You know how to organize code into reusable pieces, and can follow (and develop) coding best practices.
Bonus Points:
- Previous experience working with Australian clients.
- Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
What We Offer (Beyond the Standard):
- Real Impact: You won't be a cog in a machine. You'll have a direct impact on our clients' success and the growth of our company.
- Learning and Growth: We invest in your development. We cover education expenses, encourage certifications, and provide opportunities to work with the latest technologies.
- Equity in the Company: Become a part-owner of Aviato (after 6 months). We believe in sharing our success with the team.
- Competitive Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including health
- Remote Work Flexibility: Work from anywhere in India, with a focus on IST to align with our clients.
- Direct impact: You will see and have a direct impact on the business.
