Factory Setup Project Engineer

Role overview & Key responsibilities:

  1. Be present on-site during the complete setup of new plants, from installation to commissioning.
  2. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for quotations, deliveries, utilities, and timely completion of work.
  3. Support procurement by raising POs, tracking approvals, and following up on payments.
  4. Supervise machinery installation, electrical utilities, and structural work during setup.
  5. Work closely with the R&D and Engineering teams during commissioning trials and integration of subsystems.
  6. Assist in initial operational setup including basic training, documentation, and handover support.
  7. Maintain project documentation such as checklists, approvals, reports, and drawings.
  8. Track project progress using MIS / reporting sheets and share updates with the project team.
  9. Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines throughout setup and commissioning.
  10. Once the plant is handed over, move to the next site for a new project.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Environmental / Civil Engineering
  • 23 years of experience in factory setup, industrial projects, or commissioning roles
  • Exposure to vendor management, procurement, and project documentation
  • Willingness to travel and stay at project sites until completion
  • Knowledge of EHS and industrial safety practices
  • Basic exposure to electrical and structural works during plant setup (preferred)
