ABOUT THE ROLE :

The Sr. Automation Developer, will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for client MarTech ecosystems and delivery practice workflows. Via complex analyses of processes, pain points, platform capabilities and requirements, Sr. Automation Developer will identify system components and develop the design and functional specifications for scalable automation solutions as well as oversee the implementation and maintenance of deployed automations.

This role combines technical expertise in automation tools with strategic oversight to drive efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in scripting, automation frameworks, RPA, and architecture design, along with the ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor junior engineers and cross functional project team members.

Sr. Automation Developer is a proficient and inclusive leader adept at balancing both people and results while fostering achievement of objectives. Will work closely with other team leads to establish clear guidelines and goals aimed at achieving common objectives and ensuring global standardization.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :

1. Design Automation Architecture :

- Develop scalable and robust automation frameworks for internal and client applications and processes.

- Design, develop and implement RPA solutions

- Responsible for the interface between hardware and software development for automations.

2. Implement Automation Solutions :

- Lead the implementation of automated workflows, scripts, and tools across various platforms and teams.

- Drive the execution of automation services to meet client needs and business objectives.

3. Optimize Processes :

- Analyze, map, and refine existing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

- Performing feasibility analysis of potential automation opportunities

- Developing automation workflows and conduct testing

4. Collaborate with Stakeholders :

- Work closely with product, development, and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored automation solutions.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure automation & RPA solution meets business needs

5. Maintain Best Practices :

- Establish and uphold coding standards, documentation, and quality assurance protocols for automation initiatives.

- Ensure adherence to best practices in the design and development of RPA solutions

- Create and maintain documentation related to RPA projects including technical design documents, process design documents, and process maps

- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality

- Ensuring solutions are aligned with business requirements, objectives and industry standards & best practices

6. Mentor and Guide Team Members :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.

- Conduct training sessions for end users and other developers

- Provide technical guidance to the Technical Resource Group, Automation Team and RPA development team

- Support the needs of a growing team of experts.

7. Integrate Tools and Technologies :

- Evaluate and integrate new automation tools and technologies to enhance the overall automation strategy and scalability.

- Drive innovation and stay abreast of emerging technologies in IA RPA to maintain a competitive advantage.

- Maintaining and troubleshooting existing RPA solutions

8. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues :

- Investigate and resolve automation-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

9. Drive Continuous Improvement :

- Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the automation architecture and processes in alignment with business goals.

Embed AI into Automation Solutions :

- Design and integrate AI/ML capabilities into automation workflows to enhance decision-making and reduce manual effort.

API-first Architecture :

- Lead the design of scalable, API driven automation pipelines for digital asset ingestion, transformation, validation and syndication.

Innovation with emerging tech :

- Evaluate and deploy new AI, GenAI, and integration technologies to keep client MarTech ecosystems future ready.

Technology : Define which technologies and frameworks we should use in the following areas :

- Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms/tooling

- Middleware Integration platforms

- Development & Technical Project Management

- Data Analytics and BI tooling

- Machine Learning frameworks

- NLP tooling, Custom AI/ML models

- Code management systems

- Release management tooling

- Continuous integration/deployment tooling

- Testing tooling/approaches

- Security standards and tooling

- Compliance management, coding standards

Collaborate with IT and our vendors on technical activities, and working to support relationship development and standards and frameworks

Work with technical architecture team to support technical architecture approach, standards, performance, and quality objectives.

Carry out periodic or specific technology evaluations on tooling, frameworks, and standards

Work with broader technical experts, toward ensuring all technical solutions meet high quality standards of engineering, fitness-for-purpose and provide the broadest possible value to the business overall

WHAT YOU WILL BRING :

- Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in automation engineering, system integration, robotics, control system design and analysis, with at least 3 years in an architectural capacity.

- Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks.

- Proven experience as an RPA developer or similar role, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

- Familiarity with marketing operations and technology, digital commerce and/or creative technologies.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences :

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, VB.NET, C#

- Proficiency in RPA tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, Workato, or Automation Anywhere

- Strong knowledge of software development principles and programming languages

- Experience in process analysis, design, and implementation

- Preferred experience in MarTech ecosystems

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Strong communication and leadership skills

- Must be able to work independently and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment

- Experience working in an Agile environment

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).

- Added experience integrating DAM, PIM, or CMS platforms using APIs, middleware, or SDKs.

- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services) for automation use cases.

- Understanding of GenAI applications for metadata QA, content optimization, and intelligent search.

- Familiarity with API management platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee) and best practices for secure, scalable integrations.

- Ability to bridge automation AI by embedding machine learning models into RPA and workflow automations.
