Section Head

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head the Electrical & Automation department across all major units of our integrated steel plant, including the Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Continuous Casting Plant (CCP), Rolling Mill, Bright Bar Plant, and Seamless Pipe Plant. This role demands a deep understanding of heavy industrial electrical systems, plant automation, process instrumentation, and digital transformation strategies to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and productivity.

Principal Accountabilities*

• Lead and manage the Electrical & Automation teams across all production units.
• Develop and implement strategies for electrical and automation systems to improve plant efficiency, uptime, and energy optimization.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including Industry 4.0, SCADA, PLC/DCS upgrades, and smart maintenance practices.
• Ensure high availability and performance of electrical equipment (HT/LT switchgears, transformers, motors, drives, UPS, etc.) across all plants.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of automation systems (PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA) across the SMS, CCP, Rolling Mill, Bright Bar & Seamless Pipe units.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets for the Electrical & Automation department.
• Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives through energy efficiency, automation, and technology upgrades.
  Lead electrical and automation projects including greenfield/brownfield expansions, equipment upgrades, and energy management systems.- Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders for timely project execution.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety regulations related to electrical systems and automation.
• Implement safety practices and training programs for electrical teams.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of electrical and automation engineers and technicians.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
