• As a Principal TCAD Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for driving key decisions in developing devices/processes used in memory products.  

  Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced process & device modeling tools during process development for insights into scaling, optimization, and feasibility studies as applicable.
• Develop models that predict the behavior of semiconductor devices.
• Get useful insights through model development of the device structure, particularly for parameters that are difficult to measure otherwise.
• Study detailed process and device design/optimization using advanced TCAD tools.
• Interpret measurements (electrical characterizations, param, probe data) through modeling-based validation and/or substantiation.
• Provide useful early inputs for new and emerging technologies – materials, devices, and structures.
• Interact with a variety of teams including process integration, characterization, circuit design, reliability, and product engineers to analyze and debug device and circuit-related issues, including model to silicon mismatch during process development.
• Refine and calibrate existing/future physical models to increase predictive capability of the models.
• Be proactive in identifying potential issues and addressing them early.
• Demonstrate strong device physics approaches and achieve/maintain device modelling skills.
• Look for opportunities in advancing modelling activities (e.g. transient, reliability, variation or retention modeling)
• Make key decisions for the team, as well as provide clear direction, goals, and metrics for success of the team.
• Take part in cross functional teams to solve critical problems.
• Understand technical literature and apply it to ongoing TCAD projects.
• Create intellectual property through promptly writing up patent disclosures & filing them.

• Expectations

• Mandatory:
  • MS/PhD with strong conceptual and applied knowledge of semiconductor device physics
  • 8 – 15 yrs of industrial experience in Device Technology Development – Advanced CMOS / Power / RF / Memory / Reliability / others
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovations – publications / patents
• Strongly Preferred:
  • Demonstrated experience of working with computational methods - Hands on TCAD experience for technology development
  • Programming skills (scripting, python, c, c++, etc)
  • AI/ML approaches to physics problems solving
