Core responsibilities

  • Design and planning: Develop and design MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) in compliance with project requirements, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Installation and commissioning: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems to ensure they function correctly.
  • Coordination: Work with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall project.
  • Quality assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure installations meet standards.
  • Compliance and safety: Ensure all designs and installations adhere to local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance: Lead efforts to troubleshoot issues with MEP systems and manage preventive maintenance.
  • Project management: Prepare project schedules, material lists, cost estimates, and progress reports. Manage and mentor project teams.

Key skills and qualifications

  • A degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering is often required.
