Why this role matters:

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with deep expertise in automation, distributed systems, and AWS cloud services. You will help drive the modernization of our test infrastructure as we transition from Jenkins to AWS-native CI/CD pipelines.

This role involves building scalable, cloud-aware test frameworks, validating event-driven data pipelines, and ensuring high reliability across microservices deployed on AWS. You will partner with software engineers, DevOps, and data engineers to embed testability into infrastructure, applications, and data flows.

Your key responsibilities:

• Architect and implement AWS-native test automation frameworks for microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven systems.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy) and enforce shift-left testing practices.
• Design and execute contract, performance, load, and resilience testing for services on ECS, EKS, Fargate, and Lambda.
• Automate validation of ETL/data pipelines using AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Leverage observability tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry) to add monitoring and insights into test suites.
• Collaborate with DevOps to provision IaC-driven test environments (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Mentor engineers on AWS testing strategies, automation best practices, and scalable test data management.

What you'll bring

• 7+ years of test automation and software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for automation.
• Strong expertise with AWS services including:
• • CI/CD: CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy
• Data: Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, DynamoDB
• Eventing: SQS, SNS, Kinesis, EventBridge
• Compute: Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate
• Proven experience testing event-driven and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Strong knowledge of REST/gRPC API testing frameworks (REST Assured, Postman, Pytest, SuperTest).
• Solid experience with performance/load testing (k6, JMeter, Locust, Gatling).
• Experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with observability and logging (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, Prometheus).

Experience we consider a plus:

• Experience testing data-intensive workflows (ETL, streaming, batch processing).
• Knowledge of AWS security testing (IAM policies, GuardDuty, dependency scanning).
• Familiarity with chaos testing in AWS (Fault Injection Simulator).
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code testing (Terraform testing frameworks, LocalStack).
• Previous experience migrating test infrastructure from Jenkins to AWS-native solutions.
