Sr. Coating Advisor

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As a Senior Coating Advisor, you will be the technical expert supporting our customers directly at their sites. Your role is to ensure flawless paint application and thorough inspection, guaranteeing that every coating meets specification and contract standards. By delivering hands-on guidance and professional advice, you'll help ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

The position is based at Udupi, Karnataka and will be reporting to Manager - Technical Services Marine.

Responsibilities:

• Give clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff on paint application by working independently on site with relevant client representatives to ensure the coating specification is met and in accordance with customer expectation.
• Assist the TS manager with development of Junior CAs by on-the-job training and support, to ensure they develop their ability to work independently.
• Manage projects where advanced products have been specified by giving clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff in accordance with the specific working procedures in order to ensure that the specification and customer expectations are met.
• Carry out inspections of specific projects assigned to you by your direct manager by working independently, following the ITP and working procedures in order ensure that the product is applied in accordance with the specification
• Write relevant reports by compiling data from inspections in order to document that the specification inspection criteria have been met

What We Look for

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in any discipline with 5+ years of experience as a Quality Controller, Coating Applicator, or Coating Advisor—preferably in Marine or Protective Coatings with a competitor.
• Proficiency in English communication (verbal and written).
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Certified in FROSIO Level III – Red, NACE Level 2, or an equivalent industry-recognized certification.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience in coating inspection and application processes.
• Familiarity with international coating standards and specifications.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and ensure compliance with contract and technical requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and deliver technical advice effectively.
