Job Description :-

CAPEX AND PROJECTS :-

Experience in Procurement, Project Management, MRO and Operational Excellence within the Iron & Steel industry. Proven track record in spearheading large-scale Cap Ex and Op Ex procurement, SAP implementation, and managing end-to-end supply chains. Recognized for driving cost efficiencies, vendor partnerships, and implementing digital solutions in high-pressure environments.

• Brown Field Steel Project for SMS / WRM / CCM / Structural Mill / Blast Furnace / Power Plant

Purchase of General Mechanical Spares, Drawing Based Fabricated Items and other Mechanical Equipments for Rolling Mill and Bar and Section Mill.

• Responsible for Import of Heavy Mechanical Equipments and their spares.
• Dealing with International Parties from Italy, China, Swedan, Turkey and many more.
• Responsible for all Import related documents.
• Dealing with Top vendors of Mechanical Equipments.
• Approval of Purchase request and creation of Purchase Order.
• Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving supplier performance.
• Delivering cost savings for the company.
• Maintaining all data related to General Purchase.
• Procurement of Electrical Equipments
• LRF Furnace capital repairs

Mechanical Equipment's and their spares for Steel Melting Shop (SMS),

Bar Mill, Power Plant and

• other production and maintenance consumables , mini-max items , capital procurement and spares for running of 6.0 Lacs MT per annum steel plant
• Finalization of all manpower and labour supply contracts , tonnage basis contract and procurement of capital equipment & spares for Utilities , Admin and Safety items etc.
• knowledge of mechanical engineering processes like Incoming Vendor development & management, Packaging development, ISO Audits and SAP MM

VENDOR DEVELOPMENT / CONTRACT MANAGEMENT :-

Developing & negotiating with local & overseas vendors for obtaining timely procurement of materials at favorable terms to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Actively involved in developing alternate vendor base for spearheading import substitution initiatives. End to end tendering process coordination entailing advertisement finalisation, bid evaluation and managing contracts with vendors, transporters and contractors.

LOGISTICS :-

Export Logistics , GST , Import & Export , ocean shipments and air shipments, interaction with shipping lines, airlines, major transporters, custom house agents, export import cargo documentation & formalities, import & export for multiple locations, EPCG, DEPB, Duty Draw back rules.

Managing logistics operations involving coordinating with transporters, C&F Agents and other external agencies to achieve seamless & cost-effective transport solutions For Both In Bound and Out Bound Cargo. Liaising with regulatory authorities for obtaining necessary sanctions / clearances and ensuring compliance with various statutory obligations.

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT & CONTROL :-

Managing stores operations ensuring optimum inventory levels to achieve maximum cost savings without hampering the production process.

Implementing effective techniques like ABC/ XYZ & Consumption Analysis to track the inward or outward movement of goods.

Conducting routine inspection & stock audits to ensure reconciliation of physical stock at the warehouse.

COST REDUCTION :-

Involved in refining the ideas and making it happen Implementing strict measures in operating procedures to optimize resource/capacity utilization.

SOURCING AND VENDOR DEVELOPMENT :-

• Forwarding the quotes to the sales person (RFQ to Quote conversion) and meeting the ceiling price of client through intensive negotiation with the vendor
• Vendor Rating (Vendor KYC)
• Purchase Order Placement and Order Fulfilment Expediting
• Weekly MIS reporting about the RFQ pendency and getting it reviewed from the CFO
• Sourcing areas: MRO (Fasteners, Bearings, Hand tools, Adhesives, Material Handling equipments and electrical consumables)

DESIRED CANDIDATE :-

• Must be engineering graduate with minimum 20 year Experience in Purchase (Raw Materials).
• Should have exposure in Large Integrated Steel Plant.
• Should have good negotiation skills.
• Evaluating and adapting systems / policies / procedures for ensuring smooth functioning of procurement and materials management functions. Preparing MIS & project review reports with a view to monitor the progress of projects & facilitate critical decision-making process.
