Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with a background in law to support our legal and programme teams. The role is ideal for a law graduate with up to 2–3 years of experience in legal or administrative work, preferably within the development or NGO sector. The selected candidate will assist with documentation, compliance, contract management, and coordination of legal activities across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and format legal and contractual documents, including MoUs, agreements, and policy drafts.
- Maintain and update legal records, case files, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in legal research and support the preparation of briefs, reports, and submissions.
- Coordinate meetings, hearings, and correspondence with legal advisors, partner organisations, and government departments.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and organisational policies.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the legal and management teams.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- 0–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in an NGO, advocacy, or legal support role.
- Basic understanding of contracts, statutory compliance, and NGO legal frameworks.
- Strong drafting, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital documentation tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to the mission, values, and ethics of the organisation.
